I keep forgetting to post!!

poem i wrote about lame stuff
its pretty personal and hard to understand out of context but im hoping thats ok!!

In other news
Me and a couple others in the class went to check out the iPads in the library and
played around with the different programs on there.
Some were really cool, and read you poems when you interacted with them
or allowed you to create a poem from random bunches of words that darkened or turned white when you clicked on them
My favorite program though was the one that had a few words on a white background
for you to rearrange into a poem
so i figured we could all make different poems with the same words and see how they came out
mine was
The sorrows grinning
Softer eyes
watching
decidedly fallen
hoping to change
I think i prefer poems that
are quick but also full of meaning
because you are able to interpret them how ever you choose
and sometimes you can relate or understand them better when they're open ended
I also tend to enjoy poems that use words differently in different contexts
like how fallen
could mean a ton of different things not just falling down on the ground
but also fallen into a state of emotion
or fallen to the self

I really like how you read the poem, it was great--Good job! The pauses were used well at the right verse to create a sad and void feeling. Your voice was also toned down to make it sound nonchalant. Perhaps you should pursue poetry reading it the future, I can see potential amazinnngggg in you.

I've seen you writing your own poems since this class started so me thinks it has inspired you quite a bit ;) What's cool about personal poems is that, though it may have one meaning for the original poet, it can be interpreted by others to mean something else and it can hold a significant importance to them as well. Or even the same importance.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the read. It had the same sort of feel as the poem itself. Kind of fast but matter of fact and a little uneasy about where to go. We discussed briefly in class earlier in the semester that the reading of a poem by it's intended author or by someone esle gives a work a different feel. I thought your take on it was appropriate (regardless of the context to you personally).
